Just published and available from us is a totally revised and expanded edition of SPITFIRE GIRL, the autobiography of Jackie Moggridge, one of the stars of ATA.
Price £8.99 plus P&P, Spitfire Girl tells of Jackie’s childhood in South Africa, her fascination with flying (despite airsickness!), her move to England and into ATA, where she ferried 1438 aircraft of all types up to and including Wellington bombers. After the war she couldn’t leave flying alone, won her RAF wings, delivered a Spitfire to Rangoon for the Burmese Air Force and became one of Britain’s first female airline Captains with an airline called Channel Airways. Her book has been expanded by her daughters, with the addition of many photographs from the family albums. A fascinating read and well worth the price!
